A year or two ago, I received an email from a young woman named Madison who said everyone called her “Peach.” She had started an organization, Peach’s Neet Feet, which sends shoes with beautiful artwork from Peach herself to children who are battling illnesses, and she wanted to send a pair of shoes to Brenna.
At the time, the only shoes we could find to fit Brenna were stretchy baby shoes, because her feet are short but wide and a little swollen from her arthritis. Peach called upon a shoe company called See Kai Run and sent us the most unbelievable pair of shoes, hand-painted with Brenna’s name and adorable animals.
It was the first real pair of shoes that fit Brenna. See Kai Run shoes are now the only ones we will buy for her, because they are really soft and comfortable and they have velcro tabs for ideal fit. (We even got her first pair of sandals for this coming summer. We’ve discovered a lot of little girl sandals have the straps in between the big and second toe, which hurts Brenna’s skin, but the See Kai Run sandals are really soft and have two velcro tabs, so they fit her perfectly.)
See Kai Run has been providing shoes to Peach’s Neet Feet (PNF) for kids like Brenna since 2014, but starting this month, they launched a new campaign to support PNF even more by donating 10% of proceeds from select Spring-Summer 2016 styles to Peach’s Neet Feet. Last year, See Kai Run chose Brenna to be their November “Super Star,” sharing her story and raising awareness about her skin condition.
Peach’s Neet Feet has a long-standing motto to encourage everyone to “Hustle Kindness.” We’re honored this month that one of the first shoes See Kai Run has launched in this “Hustle Kindness” campaign is for our sweet girl!
If you go to See Kai Run’s website, look for the Hustle Kindness logo to find the shoes in which 10% of proceeds will go to support Peach’s Neet Feet.
I totally get if you want to copy her look. But just know that if there’s a “Who Wore It Better?” contest, you have some serious competition over here…
Through social media, I’ve gotten to know Peach over the last year or so, and she has an unbelievable heart for children and for giving, sharing her incredible artistic talents to bring light into this world, to families and kids who are struggling and going through major hardships, grief and hurt. She is truly a testament to the big impact we can make on the world with our own individual talents and gifts, and it is exciting for a wonderful company like See Kai Run to jump on board and give back too; we are humbled to be a small part of this by honoring Brenna and what she has overcome in just four years.
We may not be able to walk in our kids’ shoes as they battle illness and disease, but we can journey alongside them and support them in the best ways we can with empathy, understanding, compassion, and of course, kindness.
If the kids in your life need new shoes, hustle kindness with See Kai Run and Peach’s Neet Feet – the purchase of any special Hustle Kindness shoes will help to benefit a fantastic nonprofit and to support a wonderful company who gives back!
