Peach’s Neet Feet is honored to partner with Team IMPACT.
Team IMPACT is a Boston-based 501(c) 3 non-profit, chartered to improve the quality of life for children facing life-
threatening and chronic illnesses. Team IMPACT children are drafted onto local college athletic teams and, to the greatest extent possible, become official members of the team for the duration of their treatment and beyond.
Throughout the northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest, Team IMPACT creates unparalleled team based support systems for these children and their families. Core to their model is harnessing the power of teamwork by matching these courageous kids with college athletic teams.
- Essentially, these relationships involve the family and team actively supporting each other both on and off the field and participating in a full range of activities throughout the year(s) to include:
- Attending practices and games, getting a locker and team uniform, gaining on-field access, going to banquets, going to the movies, attending family barbecues, going for ice cream, making hospital visits, etc.
- Through a structured ‘case management methodology’ Team IMPACT establishes and cultivates these relationships to ensure that meaningful bonds are formed and that they’re measurably improving the quality of life for these children and their families.
- This highly structured approach further ensures that these young student athletes graduate with a number of life lessons that they can’t learn in the classroom.
- At Team IMPACT, a future is envisioned where the lives of children facing life threatening illnesses will have access to expanded team-based support networks in order to fill their lives with more joy and laughter.
- They also endeavor to provide team-based organizations everywhere an efficient way to have a powerful impact on the lives of children in their community and benefit from the perspective and inspiration that comes from these relationships.
